Augmented Reality Poster
This project entails the creation of an A3 augmented reality poster designed to provoke contemplation on a 'promise' or a 'peril' associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It is important to note that the primary economic activity in Africa is agriculture. Agriculture plays a pivotal role in facilitating industrialization and economic transformation across the continent. It provides employment for approximately two-thirds of the working population and contributes, on average, 60% to the gross domestic product of each country, along with about 30% of the total export value.
The primary objective of this A3 augmented reality poster is to enlighten and empower farmers about the favorable impacts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, particularly in the agricultural sector within Africa. To visually represent this transition, the poster features a black and white illustration of a Third Industrial Revolution tractor, symbolizing the current state of affairs in Africa. However, the transformative element occurs when a user scans the poster using the Artivive app. In this augmented reality experience, the Third Industrial Revolution tractor transforms into a vibrant, colorful video, showcasing the future of farming in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
This augmented reality video demonstrates the significant increase in food productivity and a decrease in starvation rates through the utilization of cutting-edge technology. It portrays farmers utilizing iPads to efficiently nurture their crops, leading to accelerated growth. Moreover, the video showcases the role of technology, such as drones, which efficiently distribute water across vast agricultural landscapes.
By incorporating this augmented reality poster, our goal is to inform and educate viewers about the promising impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on agriculture in Africa. This innovative approach seeks to vividly illustrate the potential of modern technology to revolutionize farming, thereby fostering economic growth, enhancing food security, and reducing hunger in the African context.
